Shivani Hazari Appointed Group Head – Human Resources at Jindal Group
With over two decades of experience in executive search, leadership advisory and talent management, Hazari takes on an expanded mandate to drive HR transformation, leadership development, succession planning and workforce strategy across Jindal Group businesses.
The appointment
New Delhi, 9 October 2026: Shivani Hazari has been appointed Group Head – Human Resources at Jindal Group, marking a significant expansion of her leadership responsibilities within the diversified industrial conglomerate. In her new role, Hazari will oversee the Group's strategic human resources agenda while continuing her existing responsibilities in leadership advisory and hiring.
The appointment comes after more than three years of her association with Jindal Group, during which she played a key role in strengthening leadership capabilities, executive talent acquisition and organisational development across its businesses.
Her expanded mandate will cover HR leadership across major Group businesses, including Jindal Steel, Jindal Power, Jindal Renewables India, Jindal Panther and Jindal Projects, reinforcing the Group's focus on building leadership pipelines, strengthening organisational capabilities and aligning workforce strategies with evolving business requirements.
Shivani Hazari to Lead Jindal Group's People and Talent Strategy
Announcing her new position through LinkedIn, Hazari expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her and outlined her priorities for the expanded leadership role.
Her responsibilities will include providing strategic direction to the Group's people agenda, working closely with business leadership teams, developing a high-performance organisational culture and preparing the HR function for future business challenges.
In her LinkedIn announcement, she emphasised making "talent becomes a distinct competitive advantage for the Group", reflecting her intention to position human capital as a key driver of business performance.
The new role is expected to place particular emphasis on leadership succession, executive hiring, organisational effectiveness, HR transformation and future-ready talent development.
Hazari also acknowledged her professional journey with the Group since July 2023, describing it as a particularly enriching period in her career. Her appointment represents a transition from a specialised leadership advisory function to a broader Group-wide human resources mandate.
From Leadership Advisory to Group-Wide HR Leadership
Before assuming her new responsibilities, Hazari served as President and Group Head – Leadership Advisory at JSP Group Advisory, a position she held from July 2023.
In that capacity, she focused on strengthening senior leadership capabilities and supporting talent strategies across a diverse portfolio of industries, including steel, power, renewable energy, mining, green steel, cement and construction solutions.
Her work involved supporting leadership talent requirements, strengthening organisational capability and developing executive talent pipelines aligned with the Group's long-term business transformation objectives.
The experience provided her with an understanding of leadership requirements across industrial businesses, an important foundation for her newly expanded human resources responsibilities.
By combining leadership advisory with Group-level HR oversight, her new position brings executive talent strategy, succession planning and broader people-management priorities under a more integrated leadership mandate.
Over Two Decades of Experience in Executive Search and Talent Management
Hazari brings more than 20 years of professional experience spanning executive search, leadership consulting, talent management, business development and organisational transformation.
Before joining Jindal Group, she spent approximately 11 years with Sheffield Haworth, an international executive search and leadership advisory firm, where she served as Managing Director, India. She was involved in developing and expanding the firm's India operations across Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Her professional background also includes associations with organisations such as Korn Ferry, EWK International and Isgec Heavy Engineering. Throughout her career, she has worked across multiple industries, including manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, healthcare, consumer businesses and technology.
This cross-sector experience is relevant to her new responsibilities at Jindal Group, where businesses operate in industries with different workforce structures, specialised technical requirements and leadership challenges.
Her background in executive search and advisory is particularly significant as organisations increasingly focus on leadership continuity, talent retention, management capability and succession readiness.
Appointment Comes Amid Jindal Steel's Capacity Expansion
Hazari's appointment also coincides with a period of industrial expansion at Jindal Steel, one of the flagship businesses associated with the Group.
In March 2026, Jindal Steel announced the completion of a major expansion at its Angul Integrated Steel Complex in Odisha, increasing the facility's crude steel production capacity from 6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 12 MTPA.
Following the expansion, the company's overall crude steelmaking capacity reached 15.6 MTPA, including 3.6 MTPA at its Raigarh facility in Chhattisgarh.
The expansion included the commissioning of its third Basic Oxygen Furnace, alongside associated upstream and downstream infrastructure. The development strengthened Jindal Steel's manufacturing scale and its position in India's steel industry.
As large industrial organisations expand manufacturing operations, people-related priorities such as skilled workforce availability, safety-oriented leadership, technical capability development, employee engagement and leadership succession become increasingly important.
Against this backdrop, Hazari's broader HR responsibilities will be important in aligning talent development with the Group's operational requirements and long-term growth plans.
Strengthening HR Transformation and Future-Ready Leadership
The appointment also reflects the evolving expectations from senior human resources leaders in India's industrial sector.
Human resources functions are increasingly expected to contribute beyond traditional administration and recruitment. They play a strategic role in workforce planning, digital transformation, leadership capability building, organisational culture and business continuity.
For diversified industrial groups, integrating HR strategies across multiple businesses presents opportunities to develop common leadership frameworks while accommodating the distinct operational needs of individual companies.
Under Hazari's expanded leadership mandate, several areas are likely to gain prominence, including developing stronger internal leadership pipelines, creating structured succession plans, improving executive talent acquisition and strengthening HR's partnership with business leaders.
Digital HR systems, workforce analytics and technology-enabled talent management may also be relevant to the Group's longer-term people strategy, although specific initiatives under Hazari's leadership have not yet been publicly detailed.
Her continued responsibility for leadership advisory and hiring could support greater coordination between the identification of leadership talent, executive recruitment and long-term organisational development.
A Strategic Leadership Transition for Jindal Group
Hazari's elevation represents an important leadership development within Jindal Group, bringing her experience in senior-level talent advisory into a wider human resources role.
With businesses spanning steel, power, renewable energy, mining and infrastructure, the Group operates in sectors where technical expertise, leadership stability and organisational capability are central to sustainable growth.
Her appointment underscores the strategic importance of building future-ready leadership teams and developing people capabilities that can support expanding industrial operations.
As she takes charge of the Group's broader HR agenda, her ability to integrate business priorities with talent management, leadership development and organisational culture will be central to the effectiveness of the new mandate.
