Mahindra Group appoints Delnaz Desai as Vice President – Group Talent Head

Delnaz Desai takes charge of Mahindra Group's enterprise-wide talent management agenda, with a focus on employer branding, talent attraction and retention, succession planning and leadership development.

Delnaz Desai joins Mahindra Group

Mahindra Group has appointed Delnaz Desai as Vice President – Group Talent Head, strengthening its people leadership function as the diversified conglomerate sharpens its focus on enterprise-wide talent management and future leadership capabilities.

Based in Mumbai, Desai will lead the Group's talent management agenda across its businesses, with responsibilities spanning employer branding, talent attraction, employee retention and development, succession planning, leadership development and talent ecosystem building.

The appointment became effective in July 2026.

Desai brings nearly two decades of experience across human resources, talent management, HR business partnering, organisational effectiveness, leadership capability, culture and employee engagement.

An enterprise-wide talent management mandate

In her new position as Vice President – Group Talent Head at Mahindra Group, Desai will work across an organisation comprising businesses operating in multiple sectors and markets.

Her mandate is expected to focus on creating a strong enterprise talent ecosystem capable of identifying, attracting, developing and retaining high-potential professionals while strengthening leadership pipelines for the Group's future growth.

Talent management has become an increasingly strategic business priority as organisations navigate rapid technology adoption, changing workforce expectations, new skill requirements and increased competition for leadership talent.

Desai's experience across different industries and geographies positions her to contribute to Mahindra Group's efforts around leadership succession, talent mobility, employee development, workforce capability and employer branding.

Regional talent leadership at Kellanova

Before joining Mahindra Group, Desai was associated with Kellanova, where she most recently served as Talent Lead & HR Business Partner – AMEA Snacks (Pringles) in Singapore.

She joined Kellanova in January 2024 as Senior Associate Director – HR Business Partner for Supply Chain & R&D before moving into a broader regional talent role.

At Kellanova, she worked with regional leadership on areas including talent strategy, leadership capability, culture, employee engagement and organisational development.

Her work included capability-building programmes, individual development plan-led learning initiatives, leadership interventions and frameworks aimed at strengthening talent-acquisition excellence.

Talent and corporate HR experience at Kellogg

Before her stint at Kellanova, Desai spent more than four years with Kellogg Company, holding a number of senior HR responsibilities.

As Senior Associate Director – Talent & Corporate HR, she partnered with corporate functions including marketing, finance, information technology and legal while contributing to wider people and talent priorities.

Her work covered areas such as talent acquisition, succession planning, leadership pipelines, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and HR business partnering.

This combination of business-partnering and specialist talent experience gives Desai exposure to both enterprise HR strategy and execution.

Experience across industries and talent disciplines

Desai's career also includes HR and talent assignments with organisations including Vodafone Idea, Vodafone, Maersk and Wipro.

Her experience across FMCG, telecommunications, logistics and technology has provided exposure to diverse workforce models and organisational environments.

Over the years, she has developed expertise across:

  • Enterprise talent management
  • Leadership and succession planning
  • HR business partnering
  • Employer branding
  • Talent attraction and retention
  • Leadership development
  • Organisational effectiveness
  • Culture and employee engagement
  • Diversity and inclusion
  • Capability building

The breadth of this experience will be particularly relevant as Mahindra Group continues to develop talent across a portfolio spanning multiple industries and geographies.

Building future leadership capabilities

The appointment comes at a time when Mahindra Group continues to place talent and leadership development at the centre of its people strategy.

The organisation has built multiple initiatives aimed at developing leaders at different career stages, while internal mobility across Group businesses gives employees opportunities to gain cross-sector and cross-functional exposure.

As companies increasingly compete not only for customers but also for skilled professionals and future leaders, building strong internal talent pipelines has become critical to long-term organisational growth.

For large diversified groups, enterprise-wide talent management can also help identify leadership capabilities across businesses rather than limiting talent movement within individual companies or functions.

Desai's appointment therefore puts her at the centre of an important strategic agenda: ensuring that Mahindra has the people and leadership capabilities required to support its evolving businesses.
