Fibe Names Vivek Sapre as CHRO to Strengthen People Strategy and Leadership Development
With a career spanning fintech, financial services, consulting, technology and education, Vivek Sapre joins Fibe from Veranda Learning Solutions to lead its talent strategy, organisational development and people-first culture.
The appointment
Pune, October 5, 2026: Digital lending platform Fibe has appointed Vivek Sapre as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), bringing on board a seasoned professional whose career combines business strategy, financial services and human resources leadership.
The appointment comes as technology-led financial services companies face a growing need to develop specialised talent, strengthen internal leadership pipelines and equip employees with skills that can keep pace with artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
In his new role, Sapre will lead Fibe's people and culture agenda, overseeing priorities such as talent development, leadership capability, employee growth and organisational effectiveness. His mandate will also involve building a high-performance workplace culture that supports the company's expansion while creating opportunities for employees to grow within the organisation.
A Leadership Journey Beyond Traditional HR
Unlike many HR leaders who build their careers primarily within human resources functions, Sapre brings experience across technology, analytics, product strategy, consulting and business management.
He began his professional career at Infosys as a software and test engineer before moving into a marketing role at Telcon, associated with Tata Motors and Hitachi. He subsequently worked with analytics firm Mu Sigma, gaining experience in business analysis and data-led problem-solving.
His career later took him to L&T Finance, where he served as National Product and Strategy Manager, managing responsibilities across vehicle and equipment financing segments, including commercial vehicles, agricultural equipment and construction machinery.
Sapre also spent nearly three years with EY, working on financial services consulting and business advisory assignments. These experiences provided him with exposure to business operations, strategic planning and the commercial priorities that influence organisational decision-making.
His transition into senior human resources leadership came in 2017 when he joined NeoGrowth Credit as Head – HR & Corporate Affairs. The role marked an important shift in his professional journey, bringing together his business experience with responsibilities spanning talent management, learning and development, administration and corporate affairs.
From NeoGrowth to Veranda Learning: Building People Capabilities Across Sectors
Before joining Fibe, Sapre served as Group CHRO at Veranda Learning Solutions, an education company, where he led human resources strategy and people-related initiatives across the group.
He joined Veranda in November 2023 and continued in the position until September 2026, overseeing people priorities across a diversified education business. His tenure concluded on September 28, 2026, ahead of his move to Fibe.
At Veranda, Sapre's responsibilities involved working with group leadership on HR strategy, organisational capabilities and people management across multiple business entities. His experience in a decentralised organisational environment added another dimension to his leadership profile, particularly in managing diverse workforce requirements.
Earlier, at NeoGrowth Credit, he handled a broader portfolio that combined HR leadership with corporate affairs and administration. The role provided experience within the financial services ecosystem, an industry he now returns to in his position at Fibe.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, Sapre holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management.
Fibe Places Employee Upskilling and Leadership Growth at the Centre
The appointment also reflects Fibe's emphasis on preparing its workforce for changing technological and business requirements.
Commenting on Sapre's appointment, Akshay Mehrotra, Managing Director and Group CEO of Fibe, highlighted the importance of investing in employees as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into everyday work.
According to Mehrotra, organisations must ensure that employees develop the skills and confidence needed to work with emerging technologies while retaining sound professional judgement.
He expressed confidence that Sapre's experience in HR leadership, strategy and financial services would help Fibe strengthen internal leadership development, encourage continuous learning and create an environment where employees can assume greater responsibility.
For Sapre, the new assignment presents an opportunity to help professionals build sustainable careers in a rapidly evolving fintech environment.
Sharing his priorities, he emphasised attracting the right talent, developing leaders who demonstrate organisational values through their actions and establishing clearer opportunities for career advancement.
Learning and development will remain central to his approach, particularly as technological developments reshape the skills needed across financial services roles. He also intends to encourage greater employee ownership and strengthen the connection between individual contributions and Fibe's larger business objectives.
Why This Appointment Matters for Fibe
As digital lending businesses expand their use of data, automation and technology-driven processes, workforce development is becoming closely connected with business performance.
For fintech companies, hiring skilled professionals is only one part of the challenge. Equally important is ensuring that existing employees can adapt to technological changes, managers can develop into effective leaders and organisations can sustain their culture through periods of growth.
Fibe's appointment of Sapre brings a leader with direct experience in both financial services and people management into this environment.
His earlier exposure to product strategy, analytics and business advisory roles could prove valuable in connecting the company's human resources priorities with its commercial and operational requirements.
The appointment also comes against the backdrop of Fibe's growing business. According to figures reported by ETHRWorld, the company's operating revenue increased from ₹771.86 crore in FY2023–24 to ₹1,584.55 crore in FY2025–26. Its permanent workforce, including subsidiaries, expanded from 816 to 1,149 employees during the same period.
These developments underline the importance of establishing people processes that can support a larger organisation without losing focus on employee development and workplace engagement.
With Sapre now leading its HR function, Fibe is looking to reinforce a culture where learning, leadership development and career progression remain closely aligned with business growth.
For the new CHRO, the challenge will be to translate his cross-functional experience into a people strategy that prepares employees and future leaders for the next stage of Fibe's journey.
