BCH Electric appoints Amit Sharma as Chief Human Resources Officer
Amit Sharma joins BCH Electric Ltd. as Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing nearly two decades of HR experience across International Tractors, Escorts, Accenture, Bharti Retail and Coffee Day Group.
Amit Sharma joins BCH Electric as CHRO
BCH Electric Ltd. has appointed Amit Sharma as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), strengthening its people leadership as the electrical equipment company focuses on workforce capabilities, organisational effectiveness and long-term growth.
Sharma assumed the role effective September 1, 2026. As CHRO, he will oversee the company’s people strategy, workforce planning, HR policies, employee relations and administration, while working with the leadership team to align human resources priorities with business requirements.
His appointment brings an experienced HR professional into the leadership team of a company with a significant manufacturing footprint, where workforce planning, industrial relations, talent development and organisational capabilities remain critical to sustainable growth.
Nearly two decades of HR experience
Sharma brings close to 20 years of experience in human resources, spanning HR business partnering, talent management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, workforce planning, performance management, learning and development, HR digitalisation and leadership hiring.
Before joining BCH Electric, Sharma spent nearly eight years with International Tractors Limited, the company behind the Sonalika tractor brand.
He most recently served as Associate Vice President & Corporate HR Head, with responsibilities spanning several parts of the organisation.
His mandate included HR responsibilities for the Sales and Marketing business as well as support for sourcing, manufacturing and corporate functions. He also worked across areas including compensation and benefits, payroll, performance management, learning and development, HR policies, audits and senior-level hiring.
The breadth of this experience positions him to take on an enterprise-wide people leadership mandate at BCH Electric.
Experience across Escorts, Accenture and retail
Before International Tractors, Sharma spent around four years with Escorts Limited, where he held HR business partnering roles supporting multiple businesses and functions.
His experience at Escorts included exposure to agricultural machinery, construction equipment, railway equipment and commercial functions including sales, marketing, service and international business.
Earlier in his career, Sharma worked with Accenture Management Consulting, contributing to assignments across HR strategy, workforce planning, talent management, change management and employee engagement.
He also gained experience with Bharti Retail Limited (Easyday) and Coffee Day Group, working across store, district and corporate HR responsibilities.
The combination of consulting, consumer-facing businesses and industrial organisations gives Sharma experience across markedly different workforce environments — from frontline employees and commercial teams to manufacturing operations and corporate functions.
People priorities at BCH Electric
In his new role, Sharma will lead key people priorities at BCH Electric including workforce planning, HR policies, employee relations and administration.
His appointment comes as manufacturers increasingly focus on building future-ready workforce capabilities while balancing productivity, industrial relations, leadership development and the adoption of digital HR processes.
BCH Electric is an established manufacturer of low-voltage electrical and electronic controls, switchgear and power distribution products in India.
Established in 1965, the company operates manufacturing facilities in Faridabad, Haryana, and Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, serving industrial and commercial requirements across a broad portfolio of electrical products.
Against this backdrop, the CHRO mandate has an important role to play in connecting workforce priorities with manufacturing excellence, organisational culture and business growth.
The expanding role of manufacturing CHROs
Sharma’s appointment also reflects a broader trend visible across corporate India: CHROs are increasingly expected to operate beyond conventional HR administration.
People leaders today are closely involved in workforce strategy, succession planning, organisation design, employee experience, leadership development, digital transformation and business productivity.
Hire Route has been tracking several such senior people moves, including the appointment of Manish Singh as CHRO at Uniparts India and Sanjeev Prasad as Chief Human Resources Officer at Trianz.
For industrial and manufacturing businesses in particular, experienced HR leadership can become an important bridge between business expansion and workforce capability.
Hire Route Take
Amit Sharma’s move to BCH Electric is particularly notable because of the depth of his experience within industrial and manufacturing environments.
His years at International Tractors and Escorts give him direct exposure to the people complexities of manufacturing operations, commercial teams and corporate functions. His earlier consulting experience adds another layer — experience working on structured areas such as change management, workforce planning and HR strategy.
That combination could prove valuable as BCH Electric strengthens its organisation for its next phase of growth.
The appointment also demonstrates how the CHRO position is continuing to evolve. For manufacturing companies, the people agenda now stretches from employee relations and workforce planning to digitalisation, leadership pipelines, organisational agility and future skills.
Sharma will now be responsible for bringing these priorities together as BCH Electric develops its workforce and people practices.
